A Guardian to the Waters of Life, Kolowisi, the Feathered Water Serpent, is a revered and benevolent deity, honored by the A:shiwi with much Respect and Devotion. He encompasses many of Life's Great Blessings; Most importantly the Essence of Life itself. Prayers for Rain/Water are important to the A:shiwi people. Rain in its many forms is required to nourish the plants and animals of the Desert. In turn, this divine blessing would help Mother Earth yield an abundant crop, aid in the successes of the hunt, produce medicines and nourish her children. Humanity.
This symbolic serpent is made from a crown of Deer Antler wrapped with Mink Fur, inlaid with RARE Black Coral (Artists' First), Mother of Pearl (Lapis/Mediterranean Coral inlaid Pupils) and Red Spiny Oyster tongue pinned with Sterling Silver.
