The depictions of Macaw Parrots represents bounty in the form of Rain in the Zuni culture.
A hand carved Macaw inlaid with Pipestone and Lapis pigments. A wonderful use of the tip of an Elk Antler tine. The eyes are inlaid with Gold Lip Mother of Pearl and Pen Shell. The shoulders are inlaid with Mediterranean Coral with Malachite and the tail feathers are inlaid with Lapis, Turquoise and Mediterranean Coral. The bale fixture is pinned in place with Sterling Silver.
