A graceful Pueblo maiden completely captivated and absorbed by the rhythm of the drumbeat.
Pueblo women are held in high esteem and will traditionally wear a shawl to cover their hair and their being as a sign of Modesty and Respect.
A hand carved Pueblo Maiden with incised bangs and eyes. Eyes are inlaid with Black Jet pigment and red Mediterranean Coral mouth. Her necklace is highlighted with a single blue Lapis stone. The belt is inlaid with red Mediterranean Coral. The dress has an incised detail at the hem. Her shawl is inlaid with Dragonflies of Black Jet pigment and stars of Red Pipestone pigment. An incised detail is inlaid with Sleeping Beauty turquoise and the fringe detail is burnished for contrast. The moccasins are carved to show the traditional white buckskin wraps and the soles are burnished for contrast.
