When the end of summer comes to a close. A celebration of the harvest takes place for the bounty of the crop. Thanking our creator and our Mother Earth for the life-giving sustenance.
A beautiful hand carved Elk Antler Harvest Maiden in her finest regalia. Her Tablita or headdress is shaped in the form of traditional rain clouds inlaid with natural Orvil Jack Turquoise and Mediterranean Coral. She wears a hand carved Gold Mother of Pearl eagle feather wrapped in Sterling Silver and pinned securely into the antler. Her eyes are of Black Pen-Shell and the mouth is of Mediterranean Coral. The wonderful strands of necklaces are inlaid with Mediterranean Coral, Fox Turquoise, Orvil Jack Turquoise and the center pieces or pendants are of Japanese Coral. The sash belt is inlaid with Lapis and Light Green Serpentine with Red Pipe-Stone pigment. The front of her manta is designed with Black Jet pigment rain clouds with Mediterranean Coral. The cape that she wears has a flower design with materials such as Lapis, Light Green Serpentine, Abalone, Mediterranean Coral, Japanese Coral and Fox Turquoise. The edge of her robe has a triangle or mountain design with inlay of Kingman Turquoise with Black Jet pigment. The hem of her inner dress is inlaid with Lapis and Red Pipe-Stone pigment and her deer skin wraps are finished with Kingman Turquoise buttons. The soles of her moccasins are burnished to give color and contrast.
