A dutiful Pueblo Grandmother has the honor of passing down a wealth of knowledge collected by generations upon generations of maternal lineage.
She is often the Heart of the Family and a Beacon of Light to her children and grandchildren.
A hand carved Elk Antler Pueblo Maiden wearing a traditional shawl. Her hair and eyes are perfectly incised. The eyes are inlaid with Black Jet pigment with inlaid red Mediterranean Coral. Her necklace is highlighted with a single Sleeping Beauty turquoise stone. The belt is inlaid with red Mediterranean Coral. The shawl is inlaid with Dragonflies of Black Jet pigment and stars of Red Pipestone pigment. Incised detail is inlaid with Sleeping Beauty turquoise. The hem detail of her dress and the fringe of her shawl is burnished for contrast. Her moccasins are carved to show traditional buckskin wraps and burnished soles for contrast.
