Eagle is the Guardian steward of the Celestial Sphere, Zenith and has the qualities of Grace and Perspective. He is imbued with the Powers of Healing and Spirit. He is also associated with a Spectrum of Colors.
The Eagle represents a messenger carrying Prayers to the Heavens and facilitating communication between humans and the Creator.
A traditional Eagle carved into the likeness and 3D rendering of an Old Style depiction of a Eagle motif taken from an Altar Pottery, which was excavated and reclaimed from the ruins of Hawikuh- one of the seven ancient cities that surrounds the present day Zuni Pueblo.
In this case, Elk Antler was used as a main medium instead of traditionally foraged paints and was hand carved into a traditional Eagle fetish. The eyes are inlaid Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and pigments of green Serpentine, Black Jet and Red Pipestone are used to create the Eagle's plumage. Wing and tail feathers are burnished for contrast.
