The Sun Fathers light is essential for life. He warms the atmosphere, fuels the climate and the water cycle.
This might be the smallest Sun Father I have created. Carved of Deer Antler with eyes of Black Pen Shell. Above the eyes is a boarder of Black Pen Shell and Gold Mother of Pearl. To the left is an inlaid Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and on the other side is inlaid Orange Spiny Oyster Shell. A single hand carved Gold Mother of Pearl Eagle Plume is secured with Sterling Silver into the antler. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is inlaid for the mouth. The crown is burnished to serve as his light. The many strands of necklaces is inlaid with Mediterranean and Angle Skin Coral. His sash belt is inlaid with Serpentine pigment with a single drop of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. Details of folds on the ceremonial robe with Lapis pigment rain clouds and Mediterranean Coral inlays. A single star above inlaid with Pipe Stone pigment and a Sleeping Beauty Turquoise drop. Below a stone to stone boarder consisting of Black Pen Shell, Abalone, Mediterranean Coral, Kingman Turquoise and dark Green Malachite. The kilt is inlaid with Black Jet pigment with Mediterranean Coral inlay. Finally, his moccasins have inlaid Sleeping Beauty Turquoise buttons on the sides with the soles burnished for color and detail.
