A dignified Pueblo Maiden crowned with a ceremonial headdress called a Tablita*, patiently waiting for her chance to take part in a dance to honor the Rain.

* A tablita is a ceremonial headdress usually worn by young Puebloan girls and women during Social Dances in honor of the Earth, the Rain and the Harvest.

A Pueblo maiden wearing a headdress carved from a single piece of Deer Antler. The headdress and hair have incised detail. Her eyes are incised and inlaid with Black Jet pigment. Her mouth is inlaid with red Mediterranean Coral. A single stone of Sleeping Beauty turquoise highlights her necklace. An incised belt is inlaid with blue Lapis stones. Her dress and shawl are incised and inlaid with stars of Red Pipestone pigment and dragonflies of Black Jet pigment with red Mediterranean Coral inlay. The fringe detail on the shawl and helm of the dress is burnished for contrast. The moccasins are carved to detail the traditional white buckskin wraps and soles are burnished for contrast.
