An inquisitive young Pueblo girl with a strong desire to Learn.

In Pueblo families, maternal figures, usually Hotda (Grandmother) begin teaching the children the traditional ways of their people beginning at Birth, with prayers and songs sung as lullabies.

A Pueblo maiden wearing a Tablita hand carved from a single piece of Elk Antler. The detail of the ceremonial headdress and her hair is perfectly incised. Her eyes are incised and inlaid with Black Jet pigment. The mouth is inlaid with red Mediterranean Coral. Her necklace is highlighted with a single Sleeping Beauty turquoise stone and a belt inlaid with red Mediterranean Coral. Her dress is inlaid with a Black Jet pigment Dragonfly and detailed hem. The shawl is decorated with incised detail and inlaid with stars of Red Pipestone pigment and blue Lapis stones. Fringe detail is burnished for contrast. Her moccasins are carved to show the traditional white buckskin wraps. Soles are burnished for contrast.
