There is a story about a Zuni kachina sent north in search of the corn maidens and this is an artist depiction of what the kachina might have seen. White Italian marble serves as icebergs. The polar bear is carved of Elk antler inlaid with pen-shell eyes, claws and paws. His parka is the natural shape and color of the elk antler and his ruff is rabbit fur. On the other iceberg there are a family of three walruses. The father and mother walrus have sterling silver tusks. The calf has no tusks. In there natural element the polar bear would be ready to eat the walrus. In this set, the artist displays them in a dance.
Note: Each pieces in this set can be moved in any configuration even displayed without the bases.
