Two Corn Maidens carved out of one piece of Elk Antler. The traditional Corn Maiden depiction with the shawl covering her head symbolizes a wise maternal figure. One who passes her knowledge onto the younger generations.
Multi-color represents the Sky and Red represents the cardinal direction South: The Land Of the Ever-lasting Sunshine (Dek'yathna Thimna)
One side is a multi-colored corn with materials of Lapis, Mediterranean Coral, Malachite, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and Black Pen Shell. The other side is Red Corn inlaid with Mediterranean Coral. The shawl is detailed with incised rain clouds inlaid with Lapis and star symbols with Red Pipe Stone pigments. The eyes on both grandmothers are of Black Jet pigment.
