Sodalite is a rich blue ornamental mineral originally discovered in Greenland in 1806. Sodalite reflects the stones sodium content. It is found in all shades of blue. It is a major constituent of the rock Lapis Lazuli, so the two are easily confused. Unlike Lapis Azuli, Sodalite very rarely contains brassy Pyrite specks.
A well carved cute bird with wings and tail feathers upward as if he is fluffing them up. Eyes inlaid with Malachite and shoulders inlaid with Variscite and Pink Coral.
